The Full Moon Rises

If you haven't noticed already, the moon is just about full. In fact it will be full twice in December offering us a Blue Moon experience on December 2nd and New Year's Eve. The first full moon is December 2 and we are celebrating by having our Full Moon Dinners on December 2 and December 4th. Grab you friends and your skis or snowshoes and come up to Galena Lodge for a dinner experience you just don't get anywhere else. Don has created an incredible menu and well... the moon is incredible all by itself.

If you can't make the dinners at the beginning of the month, join us from December 24-31 (except the 27 & 28) for more Full Moon and Holiday Dinners. Give us a call or email to make your reservations now.

Galena Lodge is now open for the winter!!

Well, it's official. Galena Lodge is now open for the winter. With about 2 inches of new snow yesterday and an inch so far today (we are expecting up to 6-10 inches by tonight) the trails are incredible. The Harriman is the best out there for skiing and the snowshoe trails are getting put in today and tomorrow. Come on up, try the meatloaf sandwich or Lava Lake Lamb Sausage Dog and treat yourself to an awesome day!

Not a Good Time to be a Turkey

Thanksgiving day is coming, so it's not a great time to be a Turkey. However you'd be the turkey if you don't make a Thanksgiving Dinner reservation quick. Otherwise you'll be in the kitchen, eating dry turkey, watching bad football and generally hating it. We make a great Thanksgiving Dinner, very traditional and very nice and all you have to do is make the reservation and enjoy your day, (sorry no leftovers though). Here's the menu to get the stomach growling:

Thanksgiving Day Dinner at Galena Lodge

Organic Idaho potato bisque garnished with truffle oil and crispy onions

Entrees Served Family Style

Roasted Sage Rubbed Turkey

Galena Opens Saturday November 21st!

With light snow falling as I write this blog, we are eagerly awaiting the opening of the lodge. Over 14 inches of snow fell on Galena and the surrounding area this past week and the BCRD has been busy rolling and grooming as many trails as they can. My first ski was yesterday, a little classic ski up Gladiator and then down the Harriman to Cherry Creek. It was awesome. See attached pictures! Today we checked out Jenny's Way and aside from a little seep near the creek it is great. Now don't get me wrong, the trails still have early season conditions with a few sticks, grass, willows and water here and there so grab your older skis and head up North this week. You wont be disappointed!

Galena Lodge will open this coming Saturday November 21 at 9am! We will have homemade soups, bread, cookies, Don bar, granola, and of course Quesadillas and French Fries. Come up and check out our new lunch menu and all the new stuff in the Ski Shop. We have some sleds for sale this winter that will knock you socks off (literally). Don't forget to make your Thanksgiving Dinner reservations and Yurt reservations soon!
See you up here.
