Snow, dinners and beautiful days!

Another beautiful day in Idaho! (photo by Sam Elmes on Galena Peak) Galena has received over a foot of new snow this week and the Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, and backcountry skiing are incredible! Come up and enjoy the winter at the lodge. Eat well and ski well.

Stuhlmuller Wine Dinner and Idaho's Bounty Dinner

Have you been up to Galena lately for dinner? The food is fantastic and this next week we will be featuring both a Stuhlmuller wine dinner and local and sustainable foods of Idaho through an Idaho's Bounty dinner.

Stuhlmuller wine dinner is Saturday, February 18th at 6:30pm. Reservations are limited for this special dinner. Cost is $75 per person not including tax and gratuity. There is also a shuttle available from and to Ketchum for $10 per person (limited seating)

Menu (tentative)
Appetizers
Red Crab crostini
Green chili and braised pork tortilla crisp
White bean and arugula flat bread
served with 2009 Alexander Valley Chardonnay

Soup
Idaho winter squash and pear
served with 2009 Alexander Valley Reserve Chardonnay

Salad
Seared duck breast with blackberry bbq sauce over winter greens
served with 2009 Alexander Valley Estate Zinfandel

Entree
Lightly smoked Lava Lake Lamb shoulder served over parsnip puree with crispy potato gaufrettes and braised veggies
served with 2009 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Dessert
House crafted citrus cheesecake with a dark berry sauce

Love and Wine!


This coming week at Galena Lodge is full of both love and wine!


Join us for our Valentine's Dinner on Tuesday, Feb 14th at 6:30pm. Enjoy private seating for you and your Valentine or get a group together for one of our larger tables. This 5-course dinner will feature handcrafted crab cakes, scallops, beef tenderloin and Maddie's incredible chocolate eclairs! This dinner is one you should not miss. Seating is limited so make your reservations early!

How about a 5-course dinner paired with the wonderful wines of Stuhlmuller winery? Join Fritz Stuhlmuller and S&C Wines on Saturday, February 18th at 6:30pm for a fabulous night of wine and food. Cost is $75 per person not including tax and gratuity. We do offer a shuttle this night as well for only $10 from the YMCA to Galena and back. Boulder Mania this am!


Well temps were -5 this am at 7 but it is going towarm up as soon as the sun rises over Galena Peak. The racers are packed in the lodge and it is a bluebird day out there! Should be a great race, maybe not record setting with the cold temps but still pretty perfect conditions!

Upcoming Dinners at Galena



As the full moon begins to rise this week don't forget to make your reservations for the Galena Full Moon Dinners on Feb 6th and 7th (we decided to cancel the 5th due to the superbowl). Dinner is 1 seating at 6:30pm and we are planning on serving wild King salmon and pork tenderloin as our entrees this month. Join us for an amazing dinner and gorgeous moonlight ski or snowshoe. Make your reservations early. Cost is $40/person not including alcohol, tax or gratuity.


Don't forget your Sweetheart! Valentine's Day Dinner is Tuesday, February 14th at 6:30pm. Galena will be seating small tables so space is very limited. Join us for an incredible 5 course dinner. The menu is still in the works but is always fantastic. Cost is $50/person not including alcohol, tax or gratuity.
